Goodwood Festival of Speed, Goodwood

In the summer of 1936 the Earl of March, Freddie March, staged a private hillclimb for the Lancia Car Club at Goodwood House. He won it, driving his own Lancia Aprilia. In 1992 his grandson, the present Lord March, had a vision of a new motor racing event at the family home. The following summer, the Festival of Speed arrived on the social and sporting calendar.
